Once upon a time, I had a relationship with someone online. I spent hours and hours with him. Poring over everything that he had to tell me. I also spent lots of money too.
But then a day came where I said “No more!” and broke it off. He’s been pursuing me ever since, even emailing me at my parent’s houses but seems as though I finally got away from him here in Hollywood. Except that he still has my email address.
Today I received a bunch of emails from him which was a surprise because it’d been a while since I noticed an email. Though I supposed I’d gotten good at just immediately hitting the DELETE key.
Instead of deleting it today, I opened and read it. His siren call was too much to resist this time and so I went to our old haunts and checked him out to see what he was up to these days.
So many new faces!! So I jumped… and fell down the rabbit hole that is Columbia House.
With any luck, I’ll keep this to a one or two shot deal. It’s been long enough over the past year or so that I’ve got a short list of new movies that have come out that I wanted to own, chief among them STARDUST!!! These days it’s gotten really easy to avoid any momentary impulses to buy a dvd because I just think about how many I own and how it’d take three years at 3 discs a day to watch everything. But new movies come out and old ones get borrowed and never returned. I’m getting STARDUST!!, Die Hard 4, Harry Potter 5 (cause it was too good to wait for the eventual all encompassing boxset), KissKiss BangBang (replacing), Transformers, and 50 First Dates (another replacement – I prefer this greatly to Wedding Singer for a Drew/Adam matchup yet it was 50 that went AWOL, not WS).
I was so enamoured with Stardust & Transformers that I’ve purposely not seen them again since the theaters because I wanted to watch my very own copies of the dvds. No rentals for me!
