Frank Baum who created the world of Oz. I believe it’s on my 101 in 1001 list to find and re-read as many of the books as I can. I loved these books when I was growing up!
Fun. I try to remember to have it. In fact in my early adult years, I had the philosophy that there’s absolutely no reason that even chores can’t be fun. It’s all about attitude and how you approach things. I need to readopt that way of thinking!
F-F-Falling, one of my Top 5 favorite The Rasmus songs. I love it so much that I’ve considered on more than one occasion, getting some of the lyrics tattooed on me. The music video is also very funny to me because Lauri has Sonic Hedgehog hair. He was still a teenager so it’s extremely endearing to see him bouncing all over the stage. There’s a reason he wore kneepads all the time back then when performing. In the Making Of video, you can see him falling down several times because he bounced too hard.
Oh geez… how did I get all the way to this point before remembering FINLAND!! I’ve talked before how The Rasmus has actually had a profound effect on my life and part of what I think is so special about their sound is something indescribably Finnish. It’s a common thing to become obssessed with all things Finnish once you get into any of the big bands from there, including other bands! And my friends (who I met because of TR) and I are no different.
Which brings me to FinnishRock.com, a joint project, that is still in a baby stage right now as we’re trying to get up to speed with reporting all the news related to Finnish Rock bands (and then some) as well as build our own platform for the site so that we can make it very useful and THE place to go. I want it to be the Ravelry of Finnish Rock.
