Ever since I moved into my apt, I’ve had stuff on my front door. Stickers and pictures and the like.

I’ve even gone so far as to wrap the entire door and put decorations on it for Fall/Christmas/etc. But the slumlord came around and made us take all our stuff down (yanking some of it down himself before we even had a chance to see the notices on the door).

But the original stickers are still there and an Obama sticker or two has been added.

Now enter the lucky neighbor who has a separate bldg all to himself where the rest of us are in a 2 story 4 row setup. We’ve become good friends so he felt absolutely no compunction at “enhancing” my rainbow Obama sticker with “HILLARY!”.

Haha joke’s on him, when A & I scored the stickers at Pride last year, we got sheets of them. Peel one off and stick it on over the “tainted” sticker and all is right with the world again.

A month later, I open my door to find him with a sharpie… just finishing another “Hillary” on the new sticker. ARGH. I’d given A most of the stickers and used the last one I had to cover the previous one.

Shortly after, a giant cutout of Jonah Hill’s head appeared on HIS front door with the word “HOPE” below it. OY! If it’d only been Seth Rogen, I’d not minded so much to open my front door to that.

That he added the word “HOPE” was a little extra dig since that’s one of the keywords I associate with Obama.

A little while later, A & I are chatting at my door and I point out my defaced sticker and mention that I don’t have anymore to cover it up. “Oh I still have whole sheets of them!… LET’S GO PUT THEM ON HIS DOOR!!” “OOHH YES!!”

15 minutes later, Jonah now sports a halo of rainbow Obama stickers to supplement his message of HOPE. Perfect!

The Hillary fan is out of town but his SO walks by me one day outside and says “ooohh you’re gonna get it!!!”. “No, you don’t understand! HE started it with defacing MY door twice!” “Well he may start it but he also finishes.” *shrug* Bring it on!

A day after he gets home, the rainbow stickers on his door become Hillaried but mine remains pristine.

The end? Who knows… this is the guy who left a screaming firecracker at my door in response to a barrage of water balloons on his. *evil grin*

Hmm… where can I find a giant Seth Rogen head?

Been refreshing all day and finally the CA state page on today’s elections came up.

Clicky Click

Hope everyone got out and voted No on 98 and Yes on 99!

Am heartened by the news that Obama now has 2114 votes… only 4 more superdelegates to go. Which btw what happened to it being that he had to have 2025 votes to get the nomination? When I noticed the change, I tried to find info on it but no one was talking about it anymore if they had at all (and I can’t imagine that they didn’t).

A little terrified that Obama will offer Clinton the VP. On one hand, I can see why he would because while Obama has the majority, Clinton’s not THAT far behind so if she was on the ticket, then he could be sure of their votes too. However, Clinton’s ran such a shoddy campaign that I can’t help but wonder how many of the early Clinton supporters are wishing they could change their vote. And it also makes me nervous that she’d end up hamstringing Obama’s efforts to bring change.

We’ll see, first Obama needs 4 more delegates and then the majority of electoral votes in November. I agree with Hilary on one thing… need to take back the White House.

Thanks to shenanigans by the management/owner of my building, I lost a day of work staying home to be on hand for them to come by. Oh well… we’ll be dealing with them soon enough.

Consequently, my mind is convinced as I wrap up here at work, that it is Tuesday. No… it’s Wednesday!

Which means Skippy should be updating but it hasn’t been posted yet. If you ever needed to kill some time and/or loved M*A*S*H, read
SKIPPY’S LIST: The 213 Things Skippy Is No Longer Allowed To Do In The U.S. Army.

Also means a new Law & Order tonight. I still love that show.

I took a long break a bit ago to watch the 37 minute speech by Obama yesterday, A More Perfect Union. Thanks to the Obama campaign’s attention to detail, they are very accessible to the deaf & hard of hearing. This time was no different as they posted the hardcopy of his speech to the same page which allowed me to read along. It’s always tempting to skip the video altogether and read it instead but I was glad that I watched the video and paced the reading so I could get the effect of his delivery as well.

Well done Obama! The only way I could see to improve upon it is to have mixed it up a bit more with the other races as well. He did do this in the wrap up so hopefully that will be enough.

A while back I was introduced to the concept of 101 in 1001.

The Mission:
Complete 101 preset tasks in a period of 1001 days.

The Criteria:
Tasks must be specific (ie. no ambiguity in the wording) with a result that is either measurable or clearly defined. Tasks must also be realistic and stretching (ie. represent some amount of work on my part).

It really appealed to me because I feel that a large part of not getting things done is not having the concentration or focus to get them done. This list would really help that and has already helped me get started on doing more of what I want to do with my life instead of just sitting around and letting time pass by until I’m old and the time to do things has passed.

The list is here: 101 Things in 1001 Days

And you can read more about this idea here and here.

By posting this here today, it accomplishes a small step in #22. Turns out I’ve already implemented WPMU here but I’m not sure that I want to keep it as WPMU after all. We’ll see. I need to figure out the whole LP vs LJ dilemma but I’m resolved to at least post all my 101 in 1001 updates here and mirror them on LJ.

I have to spend a little time evaluating and tweaking my old blog designs to fit on WP but in the meantime, I’ve downloaded and installed a design that reflects my hope for this year.
